Begin In Four Steps

101

Relationship/Vision

Because Liberty Network International is a network of apostolic networks, those involved in church planting are relationally linked through various apostolic networks and churches.

Submitting a basic questionnaire with recommendations from a network leader and pastor is a first step. Recommendations and endorsements are important for the process of church planting. When anyone wants to begin a plant, we want to know them, their heart, their vision and there lifestyle in listening to the Spirit and following Jesus. Endorsements should speak well of spiritual health, vision, values, character, stamina and ministry record that an enduring relationship would deliver.

During this time, we should access together the vision for church planting so that it not just to be a “preaching point” but a true disciple-making gathering of Jesus-followers focused on their world.

We should have the vision for the church “on file” so that we all might network together and share resources to accomplish big audacious God-size goals!

Training

Cultivating an organic missional mindset requires rethinking both our understanding of “church” and our understanding of the shifting world culture.

More Info

During a period of training, each candidate will begin with two prerequisites:

Beginning at least two DNA Huddles in their existing context. A DNA Huddle is a micro-group consisting of one coach with three others – utilizing The Gospel Primer. Each coach is preparing each participant to become a coach and develop their own huddle who themselves would gather their own huddle. The Gospel Primer is designed to help huddles cultivate a practical understanding of the gospel and grow in Gospel fluency--the ability to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel in absolutely every area of life.

The DNA Huddle gathers around discipleship, nurture and accountability. The Gospel Primer focuses of re-centering on Gospel, understanding God’s Story (Narrative Theology), integrating our story into God’s Story and understanding our identity.

We would expect any prospective church planter to be able to carry out two levels of DNA Huddles as a reproducing disciple-making tool.

Church planters should take Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. This is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points – Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic – that highlight different aspects of God's global purpose. The Biblical and Historical sections reveal why our confidence is based on the historic fact of God's relentless work from the dawn of history until this day. The Cultural and Strategic sections underscore that we are in the midst of a costly, but very "do-able" task of engaging a changing culture with Gospel hope.

Perspectives classes meet in various locations around the world and are available online. During the Training period, we will assist in:

  • Connecting the church planter with like-minded people and functioning five-fold leaders for apostolic equipping Enlisting personal intercessors and recruiting a launch team
  • Choosing a general location for the church start-up
  • Creating healthy bylaws and church government
  • Developing a pathway to accountability and freedom within the Network.
  • Strengthening your marriage and personal leadership
  • Finalizing a financial plan determining the initial costs and bi-vocational possibilities

Assessment

During this journey, we are partnering with The Association of Related Churches (ARC) to assist us in assessing the church planter’s readiness to launch a church. The assessment will require the church-planting couple to spend two days with the ARC team in a predetermined location.

Coaching

Coaching is the hands-on process of helping others to succeed.

More Info

Within the context and culture of Liberty Network International, there are a plethora of skilled and seasoned equippers who function in a five-fold ministry capacity as pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets and apostles. We will draw on their expertise and vision to help coach church planters to excel in their Kingdom advancement efforts. Coaches come along side to help church planters remain focused and incarnational in their approach.

Coaching offers accountability and encouragement as disciples are made and the church is planted.
